1) Remove the downspout and cut off it's excess from the bottom by using the Leaf Beater as a gauge being sure not to cut off too much.

2) After removing existing gutter outlet from the bottom of the gutter, use the Leaf Beater as a template for the new gutter outlet by holding it to the gutter so that the existing outlet hole is centered to the Leaf Beater opening. Draw lines along the inside wall of the Leaf Beater.

3) Using tin snips, cut along the lines you've marked.
|

4) Holding the Leaf Beater securely, fasten it to the gutter or fascia with screws. Install another screw through the screen to prevent debris from pushing it down.

5) Reattach downspout. If added stability is needed, secure downspout to the Leaf Beater with a screw. Bend flaps of gutter down as shown to direct water flow to the back of the Leaf Beater. The water action helps to clean debris off of screen.

6) Apply a bead of caulk along Leaf Beater walls where they meet the bottom of the gutter.
